What We Don't Collect
PDF Pilot processes all files locally on your device. We do not collect, read, or upload any file contents or sensitive user data. Specifically, we do NOT collect:
- ✗ Your files, PDFs, images, or document contents
- ✗ Names, emails, or phone numbers (unless you contact us directly for support)
- ✗ User accounts, profiles, or passwords
- ✗ Location data (GPS or precise location)
- ✗ Contact lists or address books
- ✗ Audio recordings or camera feeds (except local image capture for the Document Scanner feature)
Third Parties & Service Providers
We use Google as a third-party data processor and service provider for advertising, analytics, and crash reporting. These services may collect certain device and usage information. Below are details of the data they collect and links to their privacy policies.
- Device identifiers (advertising ID, app set ID)
- IP address (used to infer general location, e.g., country/city)
- Ad interaction data (views, clicks, and impressions)
- Device information (model, operating system, network connection type)
- Firebase Analytics: App usage data (screen views, button interactions, session durations, and user events).
- Firebase Crashlytics: Crash reports, stack traces, and device state information (e.g., memory status, CPU architecture) to diagnose and fix application errors.
- Anonymous installation IDs and app set IDs.
- Payment details (handled securely and entirely by Google)
- Purchase status, receipt token, and validation identifiers
- Device configuration details

Why Internet Permission Is Required

- ✓ Saving to Downloads: Android MediaStore API requires internet permission (system requirement)
- ✓ Receiving shared PDFs: Android Content Provider requires internet permission (system requirement)
- ✓ Displaying ads: Free version only
- ✓ Purchase verification: Verify ad-free access with Google Play

Purchases are one-time (NOT a subscription), have no automatic renewal, and are non-refundable once completed. You may purchase again after expiry.
Advertising & User Controls
In the free version of PDF Pilot, we use Google AdMob to show ads. AdMob collects device identifiers (such as advertising ID and app set ID) and IP addresses for ad personalization, capping, and performance measurement.
Your Advertising Choices & Controls
You can control how your device handles advertising data and opt out of personalized advertising:
- ✓ Device Settings: You can reset or limit your device's advertising ID via your Android settings (typically under Settings > Google > Ads or Settings > Privacy > Ads).
- ✓ Google Ads Settings: Opt out of ads personalization across Google services at Google Ads Settings.
- ✓ Ad-Free Upgrade: You can completely disable all advertising and third-party ad tracking by purchasing the ad-free pass within the app.
Data Security

- ✓ Use "Protect PDF" feature for password encryption

Your Rights

Children's Privacy
- 🔞 Minimum age: 16 years (as set in Google Play)
- ✗ We do NOT knowingly collect data from children under 13
- ✓ Parents: Use Google Play parental controls for purchases
Data Retention
Your Files
- ✓ Files remain on your device until you manually delete them.
- ✓ Downloads folder files persist after uninstalling the app.
- ✓ App cache and temporary working files are cleared automatically upon uninstall.
Third-Party Data
- 📊 Firebase Analytics: Analytics data is automatically retained for the default period of 14 months before being deleted.
- 📱 AdMob: Data is retained in accordance with Google AdMob's data retention policies.
- 💳 Google Play: Purchase records and receipt tokens are maintained by Google to support transaction history.

We may update this policy for new features, legal requirements, or best practices. Material changes will be announced in the app or store listing.
